this is baffling to me.
by fleaman uk inboise, idaho (ap) -- the expiration monday of a 10-year federal ban on assault weapons means firearms like tec-9s can now be legally bought -- a development that has critics upset and gun owners pleased.
the 1994 ban, signed by president clinton, outlawed 19 types of military-style assault weapons.
a clause directed that the ban expire unless congress specifically reauthorized it, which it did not.

Oasis....
by fleaman uk in.
well apparently its been 10 years since oasis released "definitely maybe".....what a fantastic album it is too!definitely a classic..and if theyd done the decent thing and split up after album no.2 (whats the story ...) noel would now be mentioned in the same breath as lennon, mcartney, jagger etc.....but instead they went ,imo, downhill fast.. oh well "tonnnnniiiighhhhhtttttttt im a rock n roll star....."

Its for the best i think.....
by fleaman uk inpoland v england
captain david beckham has emerged as england's main injury worry ahead of wednesday's world cup qualifier in poland.
the real madrid midfielder sustained a knock to his ribs during saturday's 2-2 draw in austria at the start of the qualifying campaign.. and although he took part in monday's training session in vienna before the squad's flight to poland, he was forced to pull out of the final stages to receive further treatment to his bruised ribs.. although the chances are that beckham will still be ready for wednesday's game, his fitness will be assessed on tuesday morning before a decision is taken whether he trains in katowice in the afternoon.. .

The Generation theory
by fleaman uk ini stopped going to meetings a year or so back for a variety of good reasons, but now im out,i am absolutely baffled at myself for just accepting in 1995(i think it was) the new "light"on the generation that will not pass away!basically,of course everything i had been taught, was tied up with the 1914 generation still being around when the end arrived, then it was out the window!.
what a weird new teaching that was!even weirder..no-one batted an eyelid!!.
my question is...if you were in the religion back then, did you just accept it ,no questions asked ,like i did?

target Heathrow.
by fleaman uk in.
ive just been watching the news about the arrests of suspected al-qaeda members who were possibly targeting heathrow airport, possibly the worlds busiest!im not detecting too much spin so far, seems pretty genuine.the pakistani security forces certainly think so.. it makes my blood run cold .i go down the m4 motorway quite a lot, passing that airport..if they succeeded in doing something monstrous, well i think this country could quite well go into lockdown.depressing.

The worst bit of Brown nosing?
by fleaman uk injust been responding to another thread...it got me thinking.... when i was reaching out ???!!!?
about 10 years ago,i (along with other young pioneers) would always make a bee-line for the co when he called.saturday morning, and i wanted to impress him loads, but didnt actually want to do service with him...been doing that all week...cripes!.
i used to take him on "rv,s" the very polar ends of the territory and make up the calls!

Still scared!!
by fleaman uk ini have completely moved away from the wt teachings,i know they are wrong and i will live to old age (hopefully!
)and then die of old age...but every now and again ,i feel a terrifying sense of dread (truly terrifying ),that armageddon may just happen ,complete with strange planetary phenomena etc....oh well i guess thats the 30 years of constant, never ending doom and gloom, death and destruction starting from age 3.!..being an english chap,i tend to dismiss therapy etc,but im having second thoughts..... im probably not alone feeling like this?.
ps apologies if this thread has been covered before..
